Dr. Lindsey Matheson (@art4apes on twitter) joins host Craig Price to discuss the Endangered: Art for Apes art contest. For the past two years, Craig has been involved with the Endangered: Art for Apes contest, entering and exhibiting his photos each year. This year, while he’s still on the hunt for the elusive photo to submit, he asked founder and curator of the Art for Apes contest on to discuss how the contest works and what the money supports. The two talk about what the Center for Great Apes (which gets every penny of the entry fees) does for these endangered animals, if Craig’s orangutan picture is too goofy to submit and what types of artwork they look for to exhibit. This year the exhibition of winners is not only in Miami Florida, as it is every year, but will have an exhibition in England.
You can learn more about the Endangered: Art for Apes contest at http://art4apes.com. There you will see examples of current and past submissions as well as the contest rules for 2016. Be sure to like their facebook page to get updates and their instagram account to see all the artwork submitted.
Also be sure to follow Craig on instagram at craigprice47 as well to see his photos too!

This week, host Craig Price offers up a bonus episode spotlighting Cigar PEG Radio. What is Cigar PEG Radio? It’s a weekly podcast Craig has been producing and hosting for the past few years for the charity Cigar PEG. The podcast is a way for people to get excited and learn more about the Cigar PEG charity auction, which this year will be July 24th in Phoenix, where they will auction of celebrities to raise money for charities like the NSA Foundation and Laura’s Hope.
What is Cigar PEG?
It’s a 501(c)3 charity founded by Ed Rigsbee dedicated to making a difference by employing “Philanthropy through Fun.” Cigar PEG Radio is the podcasting project where each week Ed assigns Craig a mission. Maybe it’s to introduce listeners to some of the Cigar PEG staff or to some of their High Roller contributors. Maybe it’s one of their many donors who support them year after year; maybe it’s just for fun! But just like Cigar PEG itself, they hope you have fun and learn something new.
This year’s theme is “community” and Ed has instructed Craig to get to know some of the great and smart Cigar PEG folks, like the spotlighted guest in this bonus episode Rich Gasaway. Rich is a retired fire chief who now spends his time consulting and teaching organizations how individuals, teams and organizations make decisions in stressful environments. You can learn more about Rich at his website http://www.SAMatters.com
You can learn all about Cigar PEG at their website http://cigarpeg.com and you can join their Facebook and their LinkedIn groups as well as subscribing to iTunes to make sure you don’t miss an episode.

Tami Evans, co-chair of the NSA Influence 2015 convention, give host Craig Price a preview of what to expect in Washington DC. As many of you know, Craig is a member of the National Speakers Association (NSA) and each year attends the national convention. This year, the convention (named Influence 2015) will be at the Marriott Wardman Park from July 18th through July 20th. Tami and past guest Brian Walter are this year’s convention chairs and have they got a convention for you! With a load of breakout sessions, including Craig’s “Podcasting Your Influence: Using Podcasts To Share Your Expertise” on Sunday the 19th at 4:30PM (Craig’s going to record it for a future podcast), the convention will also offer great keynoters like Jeffrey Hayzlett and the one and only George Takei!
Tami and Craig go over the entire schedule, highlighting sessions like Friday night’s comedy night “The Speaker Games!”, a great opening session with the XY Fast Five, Celebrity Sunday, Money Monday and Influence Tuesday. It’s all capped off with a gala CPAE Awards Banquet (email Craig if you have an extra ticket!). There are tons of things to learn as Tami and Craig cover it all in this podcast.
Don’t forget the Cigar PEG charity auction on Monday the 20th. Head over to cigarpeg.com/join to become a member and get your ticket into this exciting night that benefits the NSA Foundation.
My calendar of animal photography is ready for purchase! It’s a nice gift for the holidays (especially office secret Santa) and all the profits go to redapes.org to help protect and save orangutans. Please share (and buy!) this with everyone.

Kathleen Quinn, executive director of Pilots N Paws (@PilotsNPaws on twitter) joins host Craig Price to discuss her unique animal rescue organization. Four million former pets are euthanized in the United States every year and are killed because they don’t have homes. Pilots ‘N Paws is a national charity helping to change that. Working with rescue groups across the country, pilots donate their time, their planes, and their fuel, to transport animals to places where they will be adopted.
Craig and Kathleen talk about the various kinds of animals they transport (SNAKES ON A PLANE!!), how the pilots coordinate with each other as well as shelters to get these animals to their destinations, how the animals are transported and even the educational programs they’ve created to try and make sure educate kids so no pets will ever need a shelter.
Pilots N Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Please check out http://pilotsnpaws.org and see if you can help, donate your time, your plane or even your money!
